About Jovie

Jovie of Boise is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and engaging nanny for a wonderful family with an almost 1-year-old child. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting infant development, encouraging learning through play, and building a meaningful relationship with a family.

This role is especially well-suited for candidates pursuing careers in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Nursing, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, or related fields.

Schedule

  • Guaranteed 20 hours per week
  • Primarily daytime hours
  • Family values flexibility and may occasionally need longer hours on some days and shorter hours on others while maintaining guaranteed weekly hours
  • Schedule will be communicated in advance whenever possible

Commitment Required

The family is specifically seeking a nanny who can commit to a minimum of 6 months. Candidates unable to make a 6-month commitment will not be considered. For the right fit, this position may continue beyond the initial commitment period.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, loving care for an almost 1-year-old child
  • Support developmental milestones through age-appropriate activities
  • Assist with introducing healthy solid foods and encouraging positive eating habits
  • Engage in imaginative play, reading, music, sensory activities, and outdoor exploration
  • Take the child on walks, outings, and trips to local parks
  • Maintain a limited-screen-time environment
  • Prepare meals and snacks for the child
  • Complete child-related laundry, including washing, folding, and putting away clothing
  • Keep play areas, nursery spaces, and child belongings clean and organized
  • Assist with light household duties related to the child and family routines during downtime
  • Take initiative in supporting the child's daily routine, learning, and development
  • Must be comfortable with dogs

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of childcare experience caring for infants and toddlers
  • Ability to commit to a minimum 6-month placement
  • Experience caring for children under age 3
  • Knowledge of infant and toddler developmental milestones
  • Experience introducing solid foods and encouraging healthy eating habits
  • Dependable, proactive, and self-motivated
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
