Truckee, CA | 30–35 hrs/week | Long-Term Placement
A professional family in Truckee, California is seeking a full-time, experienced nanny to care for their 7-month-old daughter, starting on or before April 1, 2026. This is a direct family placement and an excellent opportunity for a career nanny seeking a stable, long-term role.
Both parents work from home. The household also includes two friendly pet cats.
Schedule & Compensation
Guaranteed 30 hours per week, with potential to increase to 35 hours
Monday–Friday, approximately 9:00 AM – 3:00 or 4:00 PM (based on daily needs)
Pay commensurate with experience
$100/week mileage stipend for caregivers commuting from the Reno area
6 paid federal holidays (when they fall on scheduled workdays):
New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
Minimum 6-month commitment required
Position Overview
This role is ideal for a professional nanny with infant experience who enjoys nurturing early development through responsive care, creativity, and consistent routines. The family is seeking someone dependable, communicative, and collaborative who values professionalism and building a lasting relationship.
Responsibilities
Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for a 7-month-old infant
Support early learning through reading, language development, and sensory play
Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, including music, art, and imaginative play
Perform infant care duties including feeding, diapering, and bathing
Maintain child-related organization, including:
Tidying play areas and the child’s bedroom
Children’s laundry
Light household tasks related to the child:
Meal prep
Kitchen cleanup (dishes, counters)
Household Guidelines
Limited screen time (only with parental approval)
No personal phone use while working, except for communication with parents
No photos or videos of the child posted or shared on social media
No medication administered without parental approval
Ideal Candidate
Identifies as a career nanny or professional in-home caregiver, not an entry-level babysitter
Has demonstrated experience providing structured, full-time infant care
Professional, mature, engaging, and child-focused
Highly attentive, reliable, and confident caring for infants independently
Comfortable collaborating with parents who work from home
Interested in forming a long-term placement with one family
Knowledge of child development, early childhood education, or Montessori principles preferred
Requirements
Minimum of 2–3 years of professional nanny or in-home childcare experience, including infant care
(informal babysitting, family-only care, or occasional/date-night sitting does not meet this requirement)Must be 18 years or older
High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
Current on infant-related vaccinations
Ability to pass an extensive criminal background check (7-year lookback)
Ability to provide 2–3 professional childcare or nanny references
